Storyline
50 First Dates (2004) follows Henry Roth, a carefree marine veterinarian living in Hawaii who prefers short-term flings with tourists. His life changes when he meets Lucy Whitmore, a warm and free-spirited woman. The two hit it off instantly—until Henry discovers that Lucy suffers from short-term memory loss caused by a car accident. Every morning she wakes up with no recollection of the previous day, including him. Determined to win her heart, Henry invents creative new ways to romance Lucy each day, turning their relationship into an ongoing, heartfelt challenge that tests his commitment and changes both of their lives.
Why It’s Our Vibe
50 First Dates is a charming, funny, and surprisingly touching romantic comedy that pairs Adam Sandler’s signature humor with Drew Barrymore’s effortless warmth. The unique memory-loss premise creates endless opportunities for both laughs and genuine emotion, while the Hawaiian setting adds sunshine and beauty. Strong supporting performances (especially from Rob Schneider and Sean Astin) and a sweet central romance make this one of Sandler’s most rewatchable and beloved films—a feel-good story about patience, persistence, and falling in love over and over again.
