Storyline
In "The Waterboy" (1998), Bobby Boucher is a timid, water-obsessed 31-year-old who has been the waterboy for the University of Louisiana's football team for years. After being fired from his job, he gets a chance to become the waterboy for a struggling team, the Mud Dogs, led by Coach Klein (Henry Winkler). Bobby's hidden talent for tackling sees him transform from a mocked waterboy to a star linebacker, inspiring his team and proving his worth. His journey is not just about football but also about gaining self-respect, independence, and dealing with his domineering mother, who disapproves of football.
