STORYLINE

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975) is a compelling drama that explores the oppressive atmosphere of a mental institution. Randle Patrick McMurphy, a rebellious convict, feigns insanity to serve his sentence in a mental hospital rather than a prison. Once there, he challenges the authoritarian rule of Nurse Ratched and inspires his fellow patients to stand up for their rights and individuality. The battle of wills between McMurphy and Nurse Ratched leads to a powerful and emotional climax, examining themes of freedom, conformity, and the human spirit.
