STORYLINE
The Shining (1980) is a psychological horror film based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. The story follows Jack Torrance, an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic, who takes a job as the winter caretaker of the isolated Overlook Hotel. Jack moves into the hotel with his wife Wendy and young son Danny, who possesses psychic abilities known as "the shining." As the winter progresses, the hotel's sinister influence begins to drive Jack into madness, leading to terrifying and violent confrontations. Danny's psychic abilities reveal the hotel's dark past and the horrors that lurk within its walls.
