Born Thomas Edward Bosley on October 1, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom Bosley displayed an early passion for acting. He attended DePaul University, where he studied drama and began honing his craft. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Bosley pursued his acting career, starting on the stage before transitioning to television and film.


Tom Bosley first gained widespread recognition for his role as the affable Howard Cunningham on "Happy Days" (1974-1984), a performance that endeared him to audiences and made him a household name. He continued to charm viewers with his portrayal of Father Frank Dowling in the mystery series "Father Dowling Mysteries" (1987-1991).
