Storyline

Tropic Thunder (2008) is an action-comedy that follows a group of self-absorbed actors who are dropped into the middle of a real jungle in Southeast Asia while filming a war movie. The ensemble cast includes fading action star Tugg Speedman, method actor Kirk Lazarus, and comedian Jeff Portnoy. When the director decides to film the movie guerrilla-style, the actors soon find themselves in a real conflict, thinking it's all part of the production. As they navigate the dangers of the jungle and encounter actual armed forces, they must rely on their acting skills and newfound camaraderie to survive.
