Storyline
Zootopia (2016) follows the determined bunny Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin), who becomes the first rabbit police officer in the bustling city of Zootopia—a metropolis where predator and prey coexist in a modern, multicultural society. When a wave of mysterious disappearances grips the city, Judy reluctantly teams up with a sly con-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman), to crack the case. Their unlikely partnership unravels a conspiracy that threatens to tear the city apart, forcing them to confront prejudice, fear, and their own assumptions.
Why It’s Our Vibe
A brilliant fusion of buddy-cop energy, clever social commentary, and rich world-building, Zootopia transcends its animated label. Directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore infuse humor, heart, and mystery into a dazzling world of anthropomorphic characters that mirror our own societal complexities. The film’s themes of inclusion and courage, paired with Michael Giacchino’s spirited score and top-tier voice performances, make Zootopia both entertaining and deeply relevant—one of Disney’s most resonant modern classics.
