STORYLINE:

Melancholia (2011) explores the emotional journey of two sisters, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), as they cope with personal and existential crises on the eve of a catastrophic event. The film begins with Justine's lavish wedding, which is marred by her deepening depression. As a rogue planet named Melancholia threatens to collide with Earth, the sisters' relationship and their inner turmoil are brought to the forefront, culminating in a visually stunning and emotionally charged climax.
