➱ STORYLINE:

"Past Lives", released in 2023, tells a story of two profoundly close childhood friends, Hae Sung and Nora, who are pulled apart when Nora and her family leave for New York. The story moves forward 20 years later when the two closely connected friends are reunited for one week when they face the concepts of fate and love.

➱ STAFF REVIEW:

"Past Lives" starts by revealing how close Na (Nora) and Hae are as classmates and friends. The film shows how much the two friends to together and how connected they truly are until Nora's family decides to migrate to New York in America. Hae is left behind in Korea where he studies engineering and partakes in some time in the military. Afterwards, he takes a job. The friends stay connected via video chats occasionally where they talk about their adventures and general life stuff. Na changes her name in New York to Nora and becomes a popular playwright and gets married to Arthur, an American she meets while living in the city. Things get interesting when Hae decides to visit Nora and her husband, which makes them ponder their future. Overall, the movie is well-acted and interesting.
