Storyline

Roofman (2025) tells the true story of Jeff Manchester (Channing Tatum), a former U.S. Army Reserve sergeant who turned to burglary—breaking into fast-food restaurants through their roofs—and later escaped prison to live undetected inside a Toys “R” Us. His double life spirals as he builds a relationship with store employee Leigh (Kirsten Dunst) while law enforcement closes in, forcing him to confront who he really is and what he’s become.

Why It’s Our Vibe

Directed by Derek Cianfrance, this crime-drama blends off-beat humour with emotional depth, capturing the absurdity of Manchester’s methods and the haunting consequences of his choices. Tatum’s magnetic performance balances charm and desperation, while the ensemble cast—including Peter Dinklage and LaKeith Stanfield—grounds the film in empathy and tension. Roofman is strange, slick, and surprisingly poignant—an oddball caper that sticks with you.
