STORYLINE
Taxi Driver (1976) is a gritty and intense character study that delves into the mind of Travis Bickle, a lonely and mentally unstable Vietnam War veteran who works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City. Disgusted by the urban decay and corruption around him, Travis becomes increasingly detached from reality. His growing obsession with saving a young prostitute named Iris and his desire to cleanse the city of its filth lead him down a violent and dangerous path. The film explores themes of isolation, alienation, and the blurred line between heroism and madness.
