Storyline
The Babadook (2014) is a psychological horror film that tells the story of Amelia, a widowed mother struggling to raise her troubled son, Samuel. Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia battles her son's fear of a monster lurking in the house. When a mysterious book titled "Mister Babadook" appears on their doorstep, Samuel becomes convinced that the Babadook is the creature he's been dreaming about. As Amelia slowly starts to sense a sinister presence around her, she realizes that the danger is real and much closer than she thinks. The film explores themes of grief, motherhood, and the power of the subconscious mind.
